Noch vor wenigen Jahren dachten die wenigsten Menschen darüber nach, dass ihr Arbeitsplatz der KI zum Opfer fallen könnte.
Heute ersetzt KI noch keine ganzen Berufe, aber kostet Menschen durchaus Arbeitsplätze und Umsätze. So verlieren zum Beispiel Übersetzer:innen, Grafiker:innen und Musiker:innen Aufträge, weil die KI ihren Job plötzlich „gut genug“ macht.
Wie denken wir über solche Fälle? Sollen sich die betroffenen „eben umorientieren“? Was aber, wenn das in Zukunft immer mehr Menschen betrifft? Wie könnte die Gesellschaft fair mit dem Wandel umgehen, der sich gerade abzeichnet?
In unserer moderierten Diskussion wollen wir anhand von Beispielen gemeinsam überlegen, wie wir zu diesen Fragen stehen und was sie für uns persönlich bedeuten.

Dieses Event ist Teil der Veranstaltungsreihe „Das Diskussions-Experiment in der Bibliothek“. In dieser Reihe sind wir in der Mittelpunktbibliothek Schöneberg zu Gast und probieren dort gemeinsam neue Methoden, um Diskussionen interessant, inspirierend und entspannt zu gestalten.

Each event is a an experiment so it’s difficult to predict exactly how it will play out or feel.
Our intention is always to create a space where conversations unfold more mindfully, relaxed, and insightful than they would in an unmoderated setting. To achieve this, we experiment with different rules, which may work better or worse at times 🙂
In any case, it’s always worth sticking around for a while after the moderated part – our participants are lovely, and it’s a great additional opportunity to exchange ideas.
This event is for anyone who is curious about the topic and/or the method.
We aim to create spaces where people of all ages, identities, and backgrounds feel welcome.
You don’t need to prepare anything, have strong opinions, or be extroverted to take part.
It’s perfectly fine to just listen. You can decide for yourself at any time how active you want to be and will not be asked to speak. However, there might be a name round as well as breakout groups, i.e. short segments in which all participants talk in groups of 2-3 people. You do not have to participate in these; you can use the time for a break instead.
Each event lasts between 1.5 and 2 hours. Feel welcome to stay a bit longer to finish the snacks, chat with other participants, and deepen the conversation.
The venue is on the ground floor and accessible with wheelchairs. However, there are unfortunately no wheelchair-accessible bathrooms!
The Discussion Experiment is an ongoing series of events through which we continuously test methods that foster more meaningful and inspiring group conversations.
Among other things, we experiment with techniques that slow down discussions, improve clarity, and support participants in expressing their ideas more effectively.
